Finally Here

It took 4 days and 1600 miles to get here although we took the scenic route which is I94 to I90 then up 93. Coming out of the mountains on 93 Bryants car shut off while driving...Got a locals guys number from the grocery store down the road and he came out to look at it. Bill knows his cars but letting it sit for a half hour seemed to do the trick and we we're off where we ended up staying in the cars at the last rest stop of the drive. Found a place to stay the next day which is now Saturday I believe. D7 at Glacier Campground is a primo place to stay because it has free showers, coin laundry on site, right next to work so I can walk, and about a quarter mile from the entrance to the park. Went out on Sunday to Bigfork which about 25 min away to watch the kayak and cataraft races down the wild mile of the Swan. Huge class 5 rapids and these guys we're styling them perfectly. Headed over to River Wild to meet people at work. Super cool guys and we landed a training run Monday down a 16 mile stretch of the Middle Fork. Never tried an oar rig which they use the beginning of the season due to high water. Oar boats are perfect because you don't have to rely on the goobs which are the new name for custies around here. So much rich history in the Mountains along the river. There was a 1927 wildfire a 1960 something wild fire, submerged train cars from giant floods, buried bridges, giant hydraulics, canyons, etc. Danger gave us the low down and the trip leader actually forgot the radio which in the books is a beer fine of a case. Make that a case and a sixpack because his boat strap came undone as well. Got to oar boat the last rapid pumphouse which is easy with the galloway stroke. Stoke level is at an all time high and we have another run down today at 2:00. Hopefully I can get checked out by the swiftwater course and get a legit commercial run. Back on the water livin it large.

Quote of the day: "There isn't an I in team but there is a U in suck"
Joke of the Day: Whats the difference between a raft guide and a large pepperoni pizza...The pepperoni pizza can feed a family of four.
